What you should know about the income tax code

The United States currently has the most progressive income tax system among all industrialized nations..... here are the facts;
  • The top 1 percent of taxpayers pay 38 percent of all the income taxes despite having just 20 percent of the income.
  • The top 10 percent of taxpayers pay 70 percent of the income tax while having just 46 percent of the income.
  • At the other end, the bottom 50 percent of taxpayers pay just 2.7 percent of the income tax while having 13 percent of the income.

The income tax has become much more progressive in the past 30 years, resulting in a situation in which a relatively small minority of taxpayers pay the bulk of the taxes, while most American pay little or any income tax. This is causing an increasing disconnect between benefits from government and what most citizens pay for. One result is a greater polarization in the political realm where a majority of citizens increasingly demand more government benefits for which they want others to pay.

It’s an Oppressive tax code.

The Democrats complain that the rich need to pay their fair share.

Why don’t the lower rungs of the income scale have to pay ‘their fair share’ – why do they get a free pass?

What do they contribute?

Is President Obama Creating A Nation Of Dependents?
While it's true that the country has been headed in this direction for many years — with the explosion in entitlements since the 1960s and the aging of the population — Obama has, in fact, greatly accelerated the trend. Examples:
Direct payments. (went) up under Obama, climbing by almost $600 billion — a 32% increase — in his first three years.
People getting benefits. According to the Census Bureau 49% now live in homes where at least one person gets a federal benefit.
Food stamps. This year, more than 46 million (15% of all Americans) will get food stamps.

We all know the only reasonable plan...Restraining federal spending by enforcing the Constitution’s strict limits on the federal government’s power would help reduce the income tax rate for Americans.

The answer to spending and debt is to return to a constitutionally limited government that protects liberty – not one that keeps robbing Peter to pay Paul.

Progressive taxation is by definition unequal taxation. The democrats are not only for unequal taxation, they insist on it.

since Obama thinks that things should be more equal then he should donate enough of his campaign cash to the republican candidate so that both of them have equal amounts of money to run for president.
