To stop online piracy...and destroy the 1st Amendment on the Internet in the process. Make no mistake they will eventually be successful with a form of SOPA because Internet 2 is just around the corner and Internet 2 implements censorship just by the nature of how it operates. The Internet is literally hated for what it has become by the people that own this planet.

The reason they hate it is because the Internet allows the little people from around the globe to communicate. If you want to know the truth most of the reason why they want to shut down freedom of speech on the Internet is because of "conspiracy theories". No joke. The power elite are worried about people that dig up dirt on them. Just an FYI...the stuff they fear THE MOST is how congress runs, laws that you and I must live by don't apply to them, insider trading gets you and I jail time but is ok for them...this stuff being known by the little people threatens their entire agenda.

I admittedly don't know much about SOPA/PIPA but what little I read tells me it won't do what it purports, except make Hollywood millionaires happy. It will make it harder for subjects of repressive governments to access non-censored information. Overall I'm against this.
We need to keep the government as far away from the internet as humanly possible. There is nothing they touch that doesn't run like crap. The last thing I want is to feel like the net has become a public highway while being followed by a corrupt Deputy looking to bust me for something.
Stopping piracy is a worthy goal, but using censorship to attain it doesn't fly. SOPA/PIPA is garbage.
Were the SOPA to pass, those here that link to other sites, videos or other posts would be in violation of the SOPA law.
Could create some headaches.
